Special Guest Performance: Samm Henshaw: Biography 2019

PERFORMER
Samm Henshaw
Still in his early 20s, South East Londoner Samm Henshaw’s resumé is already chock-full of accomplishments. In the past few years, he’s signed to Columbia Records, racked up millions of Spotify streams with his two Sound Experiment EPs, and toured with James Bay and Chance the Rapper – both of whom, upon hearing Henshaw’s rich, soulful pop, hand-picked him to support them on the road. He’s played sold out headline shows and festivals including Wireless, Bestival, Latitude and Rize as well as festivals in Europe (Best Kept Secret, Afropunk Paris, and Rock Wertcher to name a few.) Following this, Samm has spent the past year on the road working on new material. Studio sessions with Pharrell Williams, Pop and Oak, and Josh Grant saw Samm’s music reach new highs. “How Does It Feel?”, “Broke” and “Doubt feat. Wretch32” demonstrated Henshaw vocal depth and range. Samm was also tipped as One to Watch in 2019 by YouTube, The Independent, Metro, and Blues & Soul amongst others. Henshaw then started the year in fine fashion, releasing the scintillating, gospel-infused hit ‘Church’ alongside Atlanta-based duo EARTHGANG. The track has amassed over 9 million Spotify streams to date and made it onto the BBC Radio 1 B-list. Citing the likes of Lauryn Hill, John Legend, Michael Jackson, and Marvin Gaye as key musical influences amongst his South London adolescence. Samm Henshaw is an artist seemingly destined for the top.
